Moldova, located in Eastern Europe, is officially known as the Republic of Moldova and it is a landlocked nation. It is the most populated country of the former Soviet Union. It is a member of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and several other international organizations. Main crops cultivated are wheat, corn, barley, tobacco, sugar beet, soybeans, vegetables and sunflowers. Beekeeping is very famous in the country. Main industries of the country are food processing, agricultural machinery, foundry equipment, appliances, hosiery, sugar, vegetable oil, shoes, and textiles. |
